Complete Guide to Legion of Frostborne (LoF) for First-Timers.
The Legion of Frostborne is Infinity Kingdom’s most intense server vs. server (SvS) event, where players and alliances battle for dominance over gates, cities, and ultimately, the Gnome Capital, Ymir.
First things first, this being your very first Legion of Frostborne, you are playing in season 1. That means we are using the “old” format, where servers are fighting against other servers. Later in the game the format changes into a Faction based battleground where alliances are matches across servers into Factions that compete. For now, this dosen’t matter to you. What you are going to be playing is a format where your server will be matched against three other servers (in chronological order).
Preparation Phase: Before Entering Frostborne
1. Understanding the Map and Objectives
Frostborne has a hex-grid map divided into provinces (zones) that gradually unlock as your server makes progress. The goal is to conquer territory, capture strategic cities, and push towards the center, where the Gnome Capital, Ymir, is located.
Each zone is unlocked in stages. Upon entering the frozen lands, your server will be inside your starting area. Here you can construct your first thermals and farm resources as you prepare for the later combat stages. After a few days the cities in the starting areas become available and you will be playing some PvE siege encounters as you capture your starting zone.
Then you need to make your battle plans as you await the shields on the side-gates to drop. Once these drop, the outer ring of the map is made available for combat.
Later, the inner gates open and the middle 4 areas become contested battlegrounds as the servers try to claim these lands. These are the most important zones in the game because they hold all gates to the inner most area where the ultimate objective “Ymir” is located.
The Thermal Towers are key in Legion of Frostborne, as you are only able to siege an area when you have an allied Thermal Tower covering the City or Gate you want to siege. Moreover, enemy alliances cannot build thermal towers within the control area of your towers.

On the above map, the green area are the starting zones. The red lines are area-walls with multiple gates on all sides. Yellow is inner area (important zone of control) and the red circle in the middel is where you will find Ymir.
- Gates (Checkpoints) – Unlocks new areas, essential for expansion.
- Thermal Towers – Allow territory expansion; your thermal chain must connect to gates and cities to siege them. It can be built by alliance members R5 and R6.
- Cities & Fortresses – Provide ongoing rewards and zone-wide combat buffs.
- Ymir (Final Battle) – Controlling this capital city determines event winners.
2. Alliance and Cross-server Coordination & Communication
In today’s interconnected gaming landscape, effective alliance and cross-server coordination and communication are essential for enhancing gameplay experiences. Players must not only strategize with their immediate team but also collaborate with allied factions across different servers to achieve common goals. This involves utilizing various tools and platforms, such as chat applications and in-game messaging systems, to share vital information, coordinate events, and establish tactical plans. Furthermore, building strong relationships and trust among players from diverse backgrounds can lead to more successful joint operations and a heightened sense of community. As alliances form and grow, the importance of clear and consistent communication becomes even more apparent, emphasizing the need for players to stay engaged and proactive in their interactions.
Your server needs to work as one unit to win Frostborne. Coordination happens at two levels:
✔️ Server-wide cooperation between multiple alliances (or servers).
✔️ Alliance-level strategy for individual objectives.
✔️ Cross-server alliances can claim victory even in the face of a much more powerful server!
There will always be a power differential between the servers matched in a Legion of Frostborne battlegroup. As such, diplomacy become key for victory! If you are not part of the strongest server in the battlegroup, alliances with the other servers can often be the key to claiming victory!
✅ Set up external communication (Discord, WeChat, etc.)
✅ Assign battle roles in your alliance (rally leaders, defenders, thermal deployers)
✅ Create a chain-of-command and decision-makers
💡 Tip: Strong alliances must coordinate with secondary and farm alliances to create a unified front.
3. Resource & Troop Preparation
LoF is resource-heavy, so before the event begins, prepare:

✔️ Healing Speed-ups – Troop losses will stack up FAST.
✔️ Training Speed-ups – Quickly replace fallen soldiers
✔️ March Speed-ups – Crucial for capturing Thermals and Gates quickly.
✔️ Teleportation Scrolls – Needed for quick repositioning.

✔️ Troops – Max out your training grounds before the side gates drop!
💡 Tip: If you plan to go all-in for LoF, stockpile resources on your farms before the event begins!

✔️ Buffs – Stock up on resource-increasing items.
